A Little Change LEEDs to a Big Difference

  • Print out emails only when truly necessary, and if you must, print double-sided to conserve paper
  • Use recycled computer paper. Most stores and vendors carry it
  • Instruct employees to use screen savers and computer standby modes to conserve energy
  • Use 'green' or 'organic' cleaning products
  • Shut off any unnecessary lighting and put light switches on dimmers
  • Utilize natural light as much as possible
  • Do not overuse the thermostat. Require employees to keep the temperature between certain degrees
  • Improve air quality indoors by using indoor plants. They soak up carbon emissions, allowing employees to increase productivity
  • Recycle, recycle, recycle. If you don't have a program right now, find a recycling center nearest to you. Some even offer on-site pickup.
